Watch how the resource tab within the factory loading report can be used to see an estimate of how many labour hours are available for each process.

1. The factory loading report
Navigate from production, to reports, to factory loading for a projection of production workload in the upcoming days, weeks, and months, broken down into processes.

2. Ready by date
The factory loading report shows which jobs should be at each stage in any given timeframe by using:

Ready by date - Set when the job is imported into the production schedule

Days before the ready by date - The number of days before the ready by date each process should be completed by

Labour hours - An estimation of the number of labour hours required on each process

Note: To edit the ready by date navigate to production, then settings, then main process. Calculation of estimated labour hours is based on the rules set up in the estimated labour time editor, found by navigating from production, to lookup editor, to estimated labour time.

3. Capacity planning
The estimated labour hours required on each process can be compared with available labour hours on each process using the capacity planning feature.

4. Access capacity planning
Open the breakdown of any process, switch to the resource tab, to show estimated labour capacity for that process based on the number of users assigned to that process on the skill matrix page.

Note: To access the skill matrix page navigate to production, the lookup editor, then skill matrix.


5. Customise working hours
The default setting for working hours of eight hours per day for each worker can be customised on the normal working hours page. To access navigate from production, to lookup editor, to working hours. Any absences a user has booked will show on this page, and will factor in the calculations of total available hours.
