Creating, Publishing and Updating Price Files

1. Access the price file editor
Navigate to pricing & config,, click the price file editor button.
2. Using the price file editor
Within the price file editor, it is possible to:
a. Add a new price file - Make changes to pricing rules
b. Publish a price file - Make that set of rules available for quotations
c. Update a published price file - With newly added parts
d. Retire an old price file - Prevent it from being used for future quotations
3. Opening the price file editor
When opened, the price file editor will open the newest price file, regardless of whether it has been published or not.
4. Unpublished (open) price file
If the price file has not been published a warning message will be displayed, and an option will be displayed to add a new rule.![]()

5. Add a new price file
Click price files in the top right corner to expand the list, then click add new price file.
Note: Switch to older price files from this menu in order to view their rules, update them with new parts (see below), or retire them.

6. Publish price file
On an unpublished (open) price file. click the publish button.
Note: Publishing a price file takes a snapshot of all the rules in the price file, plus all the rules in the production labour time and installation time editors, and all the parts currently in the part list.
7. Altering a published price file
After publishing a price file, it can no longer be altered. However there are two exceptions to this. A price file can be un-published if:
a. There are no published quotes using that price file, or using price file one without a second price file being published

b. Using the update with new parts button.

Note: Any part added to the system since the price file was published can be added to the price file this way. However, existing parts that have been modified will not be updated.
8. Retiring a published price file
Click the retire price file button to retire a published file. This will prevent the price file being used for new quotes. Existing quotes on the old price will be unaffected.![]()
